Farmall super m clutch pedal

So while working on the farmall project I noticed that the clutch pedal is very wobbly side to say. Way to much play, so I took the pedal off and am not sure what the cause of this could be or the fix?

you'll need to take the shaft out have it built up and turned down and have a bushing installed in the pedal, I did mine a few years back it's worth the hundred bucks it cost me.

Yes what they said. FYI you can purchase a new shaft for $50-60. Cheaper than anyone will resize around here. If your clutch is wobbly brake pedals are probably too. Get a bushing put in and your ready to go.

If you are going to put a bushing in the pedal, have the shaft turned down and get the bushing to match the new shaft Diameter.

On my SMD, I installed a new shaft for under $60. The local tractor shop wanted $100 to bush my pedal. I didn't have the extra cash at the time and opted to build it up with JB Weld and then fit it to the shaft. It has held up perfectly for the last few years.

there was an article in red power magazine few years ago about this same thing, he said use the brass bushing from the wrist pin and rod from the 282 diesel engine. then size to fit.

this seems to be a problem with older Farmalls. I suppose someone doesn't grease the fitting on the bottom of the clutch pedal. Probably why you see quite a few with some type external frame around the pedal to keep it from comming too far back. Both my SMTA and 560 have that farmer fix

If you replace the shaft, which is what I did, you will need to drain the transmission and get a couple new seals for the shaft. Then bush the pedal and you are good as new. I think the shafts are available through this site.

I had a local machine shop rebush mine for around $40. Then I drilled and tapped it for a grease fitting so I could lubricate it to keep it from happening again.
