B final drive/differential housing removal

I am separating the left final drive from the differential housing while the housing is still attached to the tractor. I am currently having trouble getting the final drive housing no more than a quarter inch away from the differential housing. I know I am fighting years worth of rust and gunk. I think the bottom dowel pin is what is fighting me. I have been adjusting the hoist and the straps to change the tension with no success. I wanted to double check before I use more elbow grease with pry bars and such that there is anything else I need to unbolt to separate these two housings?

It will come out. If you have removed all the bolts around the flange it will come out. However if you are dealing with the left side be sure the break band is disconnected.

Sometimes that brake band anchor pin can be really stuck. With any luck at all, it will break before anything else does
