Sure they exist, there is one for sale isn't there?

All the parts of it came from IH, but they didn't all come out of the factory together on one tractor.

Yup.But whenever you find one of those put together 'Frankentractors', they sure want a lot of money for them!

They are especially popular with members of the "Flat Earth Society." They do not have to worry about farming terraces.

When you're done listening to these "If it ain't exactly original down to the last nut and bolt it ain't worth a plug nickle and the person who made it is the worst kind of criminal ever" types, we can have a real conversation.

No, the tractor was never produced by IH. Any you see are built using the parts from at least two different tractors, often times with great care and at great expense on the part of the customizer.

I personally don't see the crime in taking two tractors that would otherwise end up melted down to make Chinese drill presses, and turning them into something a little different than the 170 plain old Farmall H's you see at every tractor show.

The crime I see is in some people going to great lengths to $hit on those that choose to build these tractors. If you want to put a stop to it then buy up all the H's and 300's and 350's and hide them away so no more of these supposed "abominations of nature" will ever be created. Until you do that, it's fine to say you don't like them, but there's no need to be mean about it.

I think the bashing comes because some of the for sale ad's imply its original from factory.
So I understand why the bashing takes place when someone is putting up an ad looking to sell to the first fool who believes it.

(quoted from post at 05:01:25 03/12/18) and the guy wants $16,000 for it.....yea that's a scam right there.

Ok, I went and checked the ad. Nowhere does he claim it's "original" or a "factory tractor."

I see ads for tractors with obscene prices all the time. Doesn't make them scams. Only way it's a scam is if it's misrepresented, and there is no proof of that here.

You can easily put $16000 into a full restoration of a Super MTA, so it's not out of the realm of reasonable thinking to believe that you can put that much into assembling a Super HTA. Have the engine overhauled by a machine shop, put in all new bearings, seals, and gaskets, new Firestone tires all the way around, and a professional paint job. That'll eat $16000 in a hurry.

Don't get me wrong, I suffer no fools. If some fool is willing to believe this tractor is original and pays $16000 for it, that's entirely on him. Only way I'd ever pay that much is if I won the lottery, and then only after he showed me the paperwork for the engine and paint work, and a very careful inspection and long test drive. I've always thought a well-done Super HTA would be neat to have.

Been a couple sold at Mecum's big spring or fall auction in Davenport. They bring around $3000-$3500. The $16,000 asking price on this one is criminal!

I'd rather have the 300/350 Farmall, more HP, more hyd capacity, factory power steering, early draft control on the Fast Hitch.

Says you.
It doesn't claim that HTA's are real.
But then again the ad says that he's selling a Super HTA....That implies its real as far as I am concerned.

That`s really the problem in a nutshell. When there are folks that don`t know there were no production Super HTA`s and when there is no disclosure that this is a "fantasy" tractor and not a real production model, the connotation is that this is a "real, rare" tractor and the prices asked kinda reinforce that notion. A disclaimer on this ad stating it`s not a real model would be the honest thing to do.

Being I'm an old tractor nut, I enjoy looking at all makes and models. One I recall last summer is a Hi crop SHTAD that was nicely built up by the owner using a 350 diesel. May not be practical, but it's HIS toy to play with how he wants, and make guys scratch there heads..

The H was the first tractor to have a TA. It was used as a test platform so only one (some say possibly two) were built. The archives in Wisconsin have a few pictures of it. After testing it was disassembled and inspected (probably more than once?) before being scrapped.

Yes they do exist and there is even a H diesel.

(quoted from post at 04:42:18 03/14/18) Wouldn't it be fun if we had the time and talent?

I know a guy that started a SuperHTA project. He was about 70-80% completed when he began to regret ever starting the project but was too deep into it to not finish it.

I don't care if someone builds a Super H ta but it should not be marketed as such without a disclaimer and explanation. The tractor would not have a legit serial plate that reflects this bs title so it should not be called Super H ta

just my 2 cents
