Overhauled my 806 this
last winter. Has very
little blow by seems
to have a lot of power
the only thing is if
she smokes whitish
blue gray smoke when
it idles. After you
run it a while it'll
burn itself out of it
it runs nice just
don't use any oil and
don't use any water
where's the smoke
coming from and why
does anybody have a
clue. I don't believe
it is raw fuel or
slobbering I've seen
that before and this
isn't it.

Well since i did not do the rebuild and did not do the head what i want to know is how does it start when cold ?? , did you rebuild the injectors ?? Have you gone back over the head torque and reset the valves ?? Did you have the pump rebuilt?? Did you have the cam checked for lift . When you installed the sleeves did you check the sleeves for wrinkling , did you size and match each piston to the bore it was going in ???? Whitish blue smoke tells me she is not making enough compression to burn the fuel and not making enough heat or you have injectors slobbering .
This can be caused by someone not getting the valves set at the correct hight when rebuilding the head , valves set to deep in there seats affect compression and starting on a D 361and 407's they are VARY FUSSY about this.

I fitted each piston and sleeve at .007 had the injectors gone thru pump only has about 300 hours on it had the head gone thru at a reputable shop that has the valves pertrudeing on the top end of spec. Never started it with out it being plugged in yet it's always been cold when I used it.ground 15 ton of feed with it the first day to set the rings and have been haulng manure with it since it does it when I load up.
