How to set float on m carb

How do you set the float level on a m farmall carb?
Whats is it suppose to be set to

Just FYI, I replaced the float on my "H", and found it was already set correctly right out of the box. For the M, I don't know, but a new one might be OK as is.

Very rarely are they good to go right out of the box. I used to have the specifications memorized, but not any more. 1 5/16" comes to mind.

rustyfarmall has it right. 1-5/16" from the face of the upper section to the lower corners of the float bodies.

Or to explain it further, measure from the highest point of the float to the gasket surface, with the carburetor top held upside down, and the float resting on the float valve. For the double float, both sides need to be exactly the same.
