F-12 brake assembly

Hi:

My dad's 1935 f-12 has been locked up and outside for 60 plus years.
We've finally got the engine going in good shape and now have the top off of the rear case flushing out the goo.

We are trying to resurrect the brakes which are totally shot. I'll try to attach a photo of the round piece of cast iron that sets between the brake
shoe and the main case. This is broken on both brakes. The photo should show a screwdriver pointing to it. I can't seem to identify it in the parts
diagram. Can anyone tell me what it is and a part number and if anyone has such an animal. Looks to me like we will need brake drums and shoes also.
These are in terrible condition. Notice the mouse nest.

I hate to tell you this but, you are missing more than that. It appears the top of the bearing cage has been broken out. There is supposed to be a round shaft out of the side of the transmission housing with a flat paddle on it that fits in between the top of the brake shoes. When that paddle is operated, the brake shoes expand to stop the tractor. I don't see it in your pics. It looks to me like the top portion of the bearing cage has been broken out for whatever reason. You really need the operator paddles to correctly operate the brakes. I occasionally see these listed on EBay. If there is enough of the bearing cage left to seal properly, you would only need the brake operating paddles. Hope this helps.

Well I tried to post link to EBay there are good pictures of what the shaft and casing look like. Yes for sale on EBay.

Dave, in his first picture you can just make out the paddle it is there. But he has some job to pull that unit and replace it!

I think the broken part is listed on page 163 of F12/F14 Parts Catalog and is:
3072DAX Countershaft Bearing Cage with Oil Seal.
You can use 3975DAX, which is the later part number.

Thanks: I looked at that in the parts book but couldn't make myself believe it was the same part.
Thank you for confirming this. Makes it a lot easier if I know what I'm looking for. (I'm not very bright).

Hi:

Thanks for your help. I couldn't find the ebay item number you provided but once Iknew what to look for I found item # 323116056007
listed by greenbackin. Kind of pricey but have a feeling getting it out of a parts tractor without breakage could be tough.
Thanks again.

Thanks for your help Dave. I need to get in there and clean out stuff to see what I have
but now I know what to look for makes it easier. Thanks again for your help.
I'm anxious to see what you mean by a paddle.

You can see the paddle in the attached picture with brake drums removed. It's name in the parts book is Countershaft Brake Cam and you can see it on page 170. It is part number 3 (in the tiny print on the uploaded image)
