IH TD9, where can I get diesel fuel filters?

A lady who I work for owns a TD9 that was her husbands' and I use it from time to time for odd jobs on her farm. Now it hadn't been run for some time until last fall and I am thinking a tuneup might be in order. Not having an owner's manual for it I do not know what diesel fuel filters it takes and where I can get them. It has metal cannisters so I cannot read any numbers on the filters without taking it apart which I do not want to do until I can replace them and prime it. Its an early fifties model I believe with the 335 four cylinder gas over diesel engine. Any advice on servicing this machine would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Pete

The filters are available from your local CIH dealership as well as other sources. You almost need to open it up and see what is in there as a filter upgrade kit was available at some point which determines which aux. filter you may have. I don't have the numbers handy, but got them from the CIH website the last time I needed them.

Most likely the filters are still available through your local FIAT/dba CIH dealership.

Or aftermarket.

From the WIX Filters website...

Thanks for the help. I guess I'll pop the canisters off and see whats in there and go from there.

Wow, looks like a wide gauge 9 with a big old Bucyrus hydraulic angle blade....Good little machine, you can do a lot of things with that baby.......You should be able to get any filters for it at any CaseIH dealer or store having industrial and farm tractor filters...just ordinary IH 9 series Diesel engine stuff.
