I looked at a farmall m today that had 13.6x38 husky tires like new tread but weather checked real bad my question is when did they stop making them that size or do they still make them that size ? This tractor looks like it's been setting in side for a long time some place it's at a auction i'm thinking it might be a good tractor metal looks good to but needs paint to restore.

Thanks Robertw

13.6 X 38 is probably the most common size tire you will see on Farmall M tractors and are still made by almost all tractor tire manufactures because it is very common. Finding new replacements if needed will be a simple matter with cost being your biggest problem, Hal.

Hal what i was wondering if the husky brand was still available in that size and if not when did they stop making them

Thanks Hal

Sorry I missed what information you were seeking as I thought you were inquiring about the size if new ones would be required. I have no knowledge about Husky brand tractor tires as I usually obtain Firestone or Titan for my tractors which are both very easy to obtain. I have not seen any recent advertisements for new Husky tires in years though, Hal.

There were a lot of small regional tire brands that came and went over the years. You'll only ever hear about the big ones like Firestone and Goodyear and those are the ones people keep histories on.

If you could post a picture of the tread someone might recognize it as belonging to a different brand, though. Tire molds rarely die; they just get sold to a different company.

Last time I saw a Husky brand rear tractor tire was at Tractor Supply Company probably 40 years ago.

Yes. "Husky" is, or was, the Tractor Supply brand. Who knows who the manufacturer was.

When did Tractor Supply Company (TSC) stop being a farm based store? About that time. And it has been a lot of years.

Thanks guy's for the feed back i've been around for quite a while and i don't remember husky selling them for farm tractors seems like i can remember smaller type tires though i think it's been a while like one of you said 40 or even 50 years would be my guess to.

Thanks again guy's

Weather checking is no big deal. I have tractor that have or had tires on them that are very likely to be the one that came on them when new. I did have to replace a tire on my Oliver S88 last summer and it was probably the one that was on it when new because it used the old tire size. Shoot I have one machine that I was told I needed to replace the rear tires over 20 years ago and I finally had to replace on this past summer but I have had a set for it for 20 years also

Back in 1963 my uncle bought a new set of Husky 14.9-38 (13-38) rear tires for his Farmall Super MTA by ordering them from a Tractor Supply catalog and they came by truck to his farm in Southern Michigan by truck from a TS source in Toledo, Ohio. They weren't quite as heavy a carcass tire as the Goodyear Super Sure Grip 13-38's they replaced, but they got decent traction and wore very well, and were still on the tractor when he traded it for a diesel 560 in 1969.

TSC Husky brand tires were made on bf Goodrich molds. The tire carcass is lighter than the name brand ones. They usually didn't last as long as the name brand tires. They haven't been made for forty years.
