Serial # Codes-Help Please

Got my "new" Farmall 300 Row Crop going today. Very pleased. Serial number is 2xxxx6 (1956) but then is: S d
What do the "S" and "d" mean? (It has no TA.)
I also have a parts 300 row crop 23063 (1955???) and it has: "R" and "J"
It has TA, but no IPTO.
Thanks for the help. kelly

S means it was built with a T/A and internal parts to drive a IPTO if equipped. D was for a higher elevation attachment called 5000 foot. Used higher compression pistons than the standard engine. R equipped with a T/A and transmission driven PTO. J equipped with a Rockford brand clutch when built. Pistons and clutch almost certainly were changed sometime in the tractors life so may or may not have the same type. Other tractor had T/A eliminated or at least the T/A operating linkage removed.

Big red something to keep in mind posting on this forum if you type more than 2 Xs next to each other this sight blocks you post. Classic view seems to be more sensitive to it since I can still view you post on Modern. Just FYI.
