M Farmall power steering installation

Forum Members: Posted about this subject a few days ago. Since then I have cleaned up the unit and find that it is an IH pump, not a CL, that mounts beside the block and the
magneto bolts on behind it. Research reveals that I need a manifold-port block. My question, will one supplied by Steiner or a Char Lynn-- specified for an M-- replace the
original? In addition, I will need a reservoir and need to know where it was mounted. Also, I need a hookup schematic, an owners manual, or a series of pictures showing how
these units were mounted. Any and or all help will be appreciated.

The Live Hydraulic pump for a late M mid 1951 through 450. is over sized for power steering. It can work, but will be wasting most of its capacity. A PS pump from a Honda civic with remote reservoir is easier to make happen. An older M has a different bolt pattern on the front cover, and will need modifications to fit the IH style pump. What year M is it? Jim

I have installed the GM p. steering pump/res. assy on many Farmall Ms. They fit nice under the hood, cannt even see them.

Cuby: Thanks; I'll have to check with some of the local ranchers and see if I can find a GM unit to steal the PS from. We live 80 miles from a population center so can't check there.
