Plow Shares

I buy nothing but IHC brand shares, never had any luck with anything but IHC earth metal and same goes for disk blades !

Fastfarmall- where are some sources for ihc disc blades? Been thinking about replacing mine, but been leary of the new ag makes..

You got to go to a IH dealer to get IH shares and Blades, their higher priced, than brand X but last longer. Earth metal was a IH trade name.

Contact Plowman here on the forum or do a search. He has bought all the dies and is making a lot of the shears and other parts for these plows. You might check on the implement forum as he is there a lot.

Some early 70 plows still had the older Plow Chief bottoms on them, but most have modern Super Chief bottoms, which are still manufactured today.

The only issue you might run into is if you have 14" bottoms with 3-bolt shares. Some CaseIH dealers will tell you there is no such thing. I get mine at certain Tractor Supply stores, but they are the same as the Massey shares, and you can also get them online.

Second on earth metal on corn planter opener discs in a side by side comparison one row being brand x (OEM for the planter) and other 11 rows being earth metal from case ih tar the time of replacement brand x were visibly smaller and the replacement cost was only a few dollars different well worth it in my opinion
