Farmall H hydraulics

I need a diagram or explanation of how to hook up a hydraulic system to a 3-point hitch in the rear. I have a cylinder and a 2 way control valve which has 4 connections. There are 2 outlets on the left side of the tractor and 1 outlet on the right below the filler. I assume 1 hose to the valve in and 2 hoses to the cylinder and 1 return line. I just need to know which outlets go to what. I want the cylinder to have power up and power down.

Those three outlets on the tractor are all the same. Route one of those ports to your valve "in".

Forget the other two ports on the tractor altogether.

Built a "T" at the either the filler neck or the drain plug on the tractors hydraulic tank. Route the "exhaust" of the valve back to this new "dump".

The remaining two ports on the valve go to the cylinder.

Pull back the lever on the tractor and hold it in that position in some way. I.E. Wire it or chain it back permantely so that the oil can continually flow "thru" that valve and allow for two way operation by the use of the valve lever.

what i did to keep the rod back is to weld a short piece of a bolt on the rod, so it looks like the stop that is already there, pull the rod all the way back and mark it where it goes thru the bracket, then weld the second stop there. when you want two way hydraulics, pull the rod all the way back and hook it on the second stop. works good!!!

Be sure to dump return into bottom of belly pump
not the vent on top it will foam up there.A rubber bungee can keep the rod back

Everything I have seen shows it going into the top at or near the vent. So is there a plug in the bottom where it can be dumped into?

Pressure from any one of the three hydraulic ports:

Run pressure to spool valve:

Run return to the bottom of the belly pump:

Tie the rod back somehow:

Look at Stevens pictures bottom of belly pump you can also put a tee fitting there so you can drain it easier.

(quoted from post at 19:04:20 10/01/07) What is the Stevens pictures you referred to here?
