Have installed PS on a 300U and want to add a power steering pump from a pickup truck to drive the power steering system. The power steering pump from a pickup has a reservoir - is that adequate or do I have to also add a another reservoir? I have an alternator with a 5/16 thread in the shaft end that I hope to be able to attach the truck pump for power.
I continue to have a problem with using the priority valve in the tractor hydraulic system to drive the power steering. The fast hitch is very slow and weak after the pump flow goes through the priority valve. I have replaced both the valve and the hydraulic pump and neither helped!
