6 volt neg ground?

Born that way. If it works no problem. In a 12 volt negative ground environment, just remember that it is different if you ever have to jump start it. 12 volt attachments won't work on 6 volts.

No issues unless you reverse the cables when you jump start. Remember,ALWAYS, negative to negative;positive to positive. NOT ground to ground,'hot to 'hot'.

Super A would be 6 Volt POSITIVE ground from the factory.

You said "neg" in your post title. Modern vehicles since the late 1950's are set up negative ground from the factory.

On the Super A it does not matter. There are no solid state electronics that are polarity-sensitive. You can hook it up either way, swap the leads on the ammeter so it reads correctly, polarize the generator, and off you go.

Some will argue that there are "positive ground" and "negative ground" voltage regulators, but the mechanical regulators really don't care about polarity/ground.

If the tractor is charging properly, leave it as is.

Actually, the contact points in mechanical regulators traditionally were made of 2 different materials to minimize material transfer (burning). Placement of the 2 materials was one way for positive ground and the opposite way for negative ground.

New "either polarity" regulators probably use the same material on both contacts, one of the reasons they don't last as well as the old ones.
