Farmall 350 Utility Trans input shaft seals

Hi all. Am trying to remove trans shaft and bearing cage to replace seals on Farmall 350 utility. Have a heavy slide hammer on inner shaft and it will not budge it. Any ideas?

Take a soft hammer and knock that stub with the three bolts out of, back and forth and get something in behind it to pry it out. Just the o ring holding it in there.

It should come apart just like you are doing with slide hammer.
The release bearing carrier can be removed separately as has been suggested but shold not be necessary. The end of shaft in side housing is a precise fit and is not lubricated as it is in cavity of the TA clutch. It can only be sticking in 2 places, the O ring or one shaft to the other shaft it engages. That is what i remember anyway. Good luck!

Got it with a larger slide hammer. Was stuck real good. Where the two inner seals run they have grooved the shaft. It appears those seals keep oil out of the TA. The only seal (aside from the oring) that could cause leaking into the clutch cavity would be the one in the bearing cage, correct?

When you pull with a slide hammer you are beating on those ball bearings. Much easier and better to work on the part like I said. And yes, that seal and surface is where oil will leak into clutch housing and other inner seal into TA dry housing.

LSM , Look at the parts listing. I see 3 seals that could let oil in.
2 on the TA side and 1 on the PTO drive side. That is what it looks like in the diagram.
Did you have some fine powder in the pilot hole holding it together, or was it the O ring?
