784 Park Brake

I am attempting to replace the park brake on my 784, I've read on the forum where it can be done from the bottom which can be very challenging and it is, as of now I've not been successful, my question to anyone that can help is, if I remove the top (lift housing) can the park brake be reached down inside without removing anything else, and when lifting the top is there anything I would need to be aware of?

Drain the oilql take this side cover off on the side take the roll pin out of the PTO shaft take the bolts out of the back slide the shaft back remove the PTO assembly being careful do not damage the seal rings on the PTO shaft take fuel tank off with fenders take the lines fuel lines and lift up The lines remove top cover back off parking brake not pins out of parking brake install new parking break as a symbol like you took it off the book is wrong They used to say that you could replace that without taking the top off good luck if you can do it you got to drive the roll pins out

I did a 584 last year.I had the top cover off already for another problem,a broken pass thru shifter shaft for hi-lo range. As ihtimmy says pull the fuel tank and fenders as an assembly, pull the seat platform and the top cover.Drain the fluid.Be careful not to drop the roll pins for the park band.I rolled my band in around the drum.It was a close fit but it went. When you get done, make sure the warning light works! Mark.
