Farmall MD won?t speed up on diesel side

Have a farmall md was running fine and all of a sude
Still switches to diesel and runs on diesel but does t want to
throttle up what should I be looking at

Possibly a stuck rack in the injection pump. Did the tractor sit unused for any length of time? If it happened all at once, it may be something else. Hopefully poster 'janicholson' will see this. He is very familiar with the gas start diesels.
