Hi Guys,
I have a 1954 stage 2 Super H that has the wrong carb on it. The choke is on the wrong side and the # on the brass tag is: 5098DC. I suspect it's an M carb. .

I have 3 donor carbs #'s: 361525R92, 356948R91, 357231R91. These will bolt up and the choke is on the correct side.

What little research I can find seem to point that these carbs are correct for 300, SM,& 400. This is per the carb rebuild kit #'s on this site.

I suspect I'll have to disassemble them and see what jets and Venturi they have?????

What size jets and venturi are correct for the SH/300?

Does the tractor run and act like it should? If so,just leave it as is. Don't worry. Why spend the money and effort? The 'correct police' won't arrest you. They would probably have a heart attack at my place. LOL!

I'm all about thumbing my nose at the correct police.

However this tractor sat for at least 10+ years after the previous owner passed. I bought it about 5 years ago. I got it runnng and found the clutch is about out. Barely functions. It would only run at one speed, no idle control.

I parked it and it has sat ever since.

I pulled the carb yesterday and freed up the throttle butterfly. Reinstalled and now have throttle control back. Runs great but is starving for fuel at anything more than half throttle. I have plenty of fuel flow to the carb.

It's time to rebuild the carb! Because I have these donors laying on the shelf I want to rebuild the he correct one.
