Farmall A oil filter upgrade and spring service

I finally got around to changing the oil and filter on the A yesterday and completing the spri g servicing. I had ordered the spin on filter update in the fall along with a new fuel valve as the original seeped at the handle. Installation of both were straight forward. Fit and finish were perfect. The battery decided to take the rest if its' life off depsite being hooked to a battery tender so it was off to the local Rural King for a cheap replacement. The tag on the battery said 2003 so I guess me and Bill the previous owner got our moneys worth...Put 2 gallons of 100 LL Avgas in the tank and I am pleased to report no leaks on engine start and it runs like a champ. One tractor ready for spring and four to go...

No drag racing :D
I use the 100LL in an effort to prevent fuel system damage associated with ethanol in fuel systems for long term storage. I am fortunate to live near the local airport. I use it as storage fuel for my vintage motorcycles and keep 5 gallons of it on premix for the chainsaws and weed eater as well. The A runs really nice on it and I am sure the little bit of lead helps the old valve guides too. If I was really working the tractor it wouldn't be practical. I burn about 30 gallons a year since all I do is mow grass with the 6 foot woods under mower.
I found the adapter on line on ebay. I put in farmall a oil filter adapter in the search box. It was $129 shipped.
