Farmall h clutch problem

I just bought a 1950 farmall h that had been sitting for 7-8
years and there is a problem with the clutch sticking, but it?s
not that easy.... while the tractor is running and the clutch
depressed it will only grind. If I push the clutch I?m before I
start it it will go in gear just fine. When letting out the clutch as
easy as I possibly can it will just engage fully all at one then
you can push it all you want and the clutch won?t disengage.
You can start on the clutch and brakes....any ideas?

Get a manual and adjust the clutch free travel as instructed. It sounds like as of now, there is too much free travel.

In my opinion there is nothing to do but take it apart. The clutch will come out the bottom (not the flywheel). Pull out the Liftall, Take pictures of what is up there. Disassemble the taper bolt coupling. Loosen till almost falling out, the clutch Pressure plate. Pull out and remove the clutch pilot tube from the "roof". Pull out the TO bearing and clutch shaft. Remove Pressure Plate. See what you find is remaining of the driven disk. Jim

The clutch on my H would stick engaged, it was mucked up where it fit in flywheel due to leaking rear main seal.

Be prepared to change that during split if needed.

You don't need to split an H to do the clutch. Just drop the hydraulic pump and the clutch comes out the bottom.
