986 TA Pressures Questions

Starting in on a clutch replacement job, but hummmm the red light on the dash comes on at idle for the dump valve. Oil up, new filter, check
pressures next. TA clutch pressures 220 at idle and 240 at high rpm. Cranking the steering wheel to the end, the clutch pressures drop to 0
Check lube circuit pressure.. 0 at idle and 18 at high idle. Any thoughts here? Haven't taken anything apart yet, as I think maybe I better check
this problem out before venturing into the clutch

Does it shift down with the TA forward and when you use your remote does it slip on the high side and low side both check your TA spool valve make sure is traveling the fall travel with the snap ring almost touching the the bottom It should have an inch and an eighth travel but the pressures are low what you said the pump could be bad but is this streeing hard at idol and how much clutch adjustment you got left on your clutch how much free paddle you got it?s hard to diagnose something without being there and checking it myself On your cab bracket for the clutch is it on the casting or or on the cab And what cab mounts you have Old style or new style I always put them in new because the older style will bus the rubber spacer and won?t let them clutch work right

With engine running a little faster than idle in direct drive turn steering to stop, if t/a downshifts pump flow is low, have oil warmed up first. Steve

Like Timmy said on the cab mount , but on the T/A spool valve the snap ring must touch the nut with full travel up . You may also have a priority valve sticking in the MCV or a gskt / O/ring leaking causing a drop in pressure . The pressure you stated is a little low on the low side and this can be leakage in the T/A itself or in the MCV . On that tractor i like to see pressures at around 245-255 with little difference between high and low sides . Also in any 86 sires check your cab mounts as they do go bad and allow the cab to settle down and throwing everything out of wack . Have the flywheel refaced and do a rear engine seal while your there . Look the IDPTO shaft over well as now is the time to replace if you have any ware and when doing this replace the IDPTO bearing also.
