I am just getting started on getting a few IH 674s back up and going. They came with a farm I purchased. Could someone tell me what this is and what it does?

I cannot say for sure but it looks a lot like the starter fluid start aid on my 584.

You are missing the ether can, and (luckily) it's set up as it should be to block it off and keep dirt from being sucked in while there's no can installed! The one in my photo is an older version that has a different "bail".

I agree with Old as it looks a lot like the one on a 695 I ran several years. I note one wire is disconnected, I had to do that on the 695 during the season when it wasn't needed my knee would hit the push button switch when I would turn my body to look back when hooking up equipment ect.

Electric either injector. Take it off and plug the hole in the manifold to keep dust out.
