354 international diff lock won't disengage

I have a 354 utility tractor and I was blading the driveway and had the diff lock engaged but then it would not disengage I have the brake housing off but I can't get the plate off thats behind the housing so I was wondering if there is a snap ring or something holding it on or not?
Thanks

Hi, typically to release the diff lock, tap one brake then the other or stop and reverse.
Your diff lock control shaft maybe rusted where it goes thru the brake shaft. Lube with you favorite penetrating oil.

The plate behind the brakes holds the differential pinion shaft, the bull gear sticks up into this lot. If you continue prying it will likely break. If you want to remove it you will need to remove the hydraulic package from the top of the rear end and then remove the bull gear from the side you're working on. This will also, I think, require pulling the axle out a bit. Good luck, Sam
