Farmall B Exhaust Manifold Stud

Anyone know where a guy could come up with an exhaust manifold stud, Part # 45223DA? I believe they are 3/8", course on one side, fine on the other. Innerweb returns no findings other than guys talking about them on this forum. Thanks

Go to your local muffler shop
All the manifolds use the same studs no matter whather auto or tractor
Total cost for 4 less than $5.00 even to a local NAPA be certain to purchase all 4 and then hae extra on hand EVEN purchase the propper nuts there too

(quoted from post at 11:52:56 01/24/18) messick should have it!

Thanks I'll call Case directly. Messick don't have them, tried that already. My Fastenal delivery guy that stops by my office didn't have either. Machine shop told me they could make me one but figured i would try cheaper avenue first. Thank ya all

Go to your local NAPPA AND purchase studs and nuts
All the same for auto and tractor manifolds
Price probably less than $10.00 total that way you will
have a cupple of extra studs on hand.

I can swing by muffler shop. I live in small town so chances are they probably don't have either. Thanks for the advice!

Wish I had a Napa close! I have a ma and pa auto parts store. But they didn't have any. They are supposed to be checking but this was days ago and no call back yet.....

"Part number 3228189R1 available from Case IH dealer." Cost about $13.

Part number R55396, from John Deere dealer, cost about $8.

Dorman part number 675003, $0.48 from Rock Auto, plus shipping, probably a buck or two through a local auto parts store. (A little longer, though.)

Thanks Bob. I have a neighbor with an A. Wonder how long it would take him to realize he was missing one!!!!

Think I would just get a piece of 3/8 stock, cut it to length and using a 3/8 course die on one end and a 3/8 fine die on the other. A machine shop would do the same for you in just a couple of minutes.

wouldn't you need to turn the 3/8 stock down slightly on a lathe before using the die? Similar to the shank on a bolt...the shank is 3/8 but the thread area is a slightly smaller diameter.

Just get some 3/8" threaded rod. Screw it into the block as far as possible, allow room for a lock washer and nut, cut it off, and go. Maybe not as good as original, but good enough.

I bought a couple of new studs from Case-IH for my M. Those NEW studs would not thread into the block even though they looked identical to original.
