200 Engine Racing - Nylon Bushing

200 engine was racing when not under load --like throw a rod high rpms. Took governor cover off. Everything inside governor cover looked ok. No broken springs. A little slack here and there after 61 years of use.

Nylon Bushing #24 in parts drawing, however, looked eaten into on the end that pushes against the governor weights.. Like maybe 1/4" or so

How hard will a replacement be to find ?

Is this damage indicative of any other problems ?

The part no. of #24 in your attached photo per my parts catalog is 363866R1 and most likely is still available from CaseIH as Messicks lists the part as having six in their current stock inventory at a price of $18.02 each. There is also an optional steel part noted in the parts catalog with part no. 49325D but NA at both Messicks and the Parts Depot so looks like a replacement nylon bushing is your only option at this point, HTH, Hal.

Make sure the surfaces of the weights that contact the bushing haven't got any sort of rough edge that will chew up a new bushing.

That may just be what 61 years of regular use does to that part.

Present --- yes
In Good Condition --- about 61 years of wear. Will change it while we are in there

I'd be sure to check the needle roller brgs. on
the output shaft. If they aren't maybe rusty &
dragging, it would be a first.

The bearing # is 45753D

There is a welch/ expansion plug on the "outer" side
of the gov. housing which covers where the bearing
sits.
The other bearing sits on the opposite side of the
governor housing.

The "output" shaft [#15] rides on these 2 bearings.

Our Super C & our A have both needed these bearings
changed out because of rust---which we figured was
caused by condensation accumulating during cold weather
operation.

Your unit may have never been in cold weather operation,
but a quick check can be made while the gov. is apart.
Rusty brgs. will cause the situation which you are having.
