Hydraulic Block for a Super C-parts question

I have a Super C, hydraulic block, that is missing a part. I had the hydraulics under load one day and BAM! Out came a ton of fluid and my buck slowly dropped.

I got the block out, but what is the part called? Maybe someone knows the part number of the missing part? The Part number off the hydraulic block is 357657R3.

Both photos have yellow arrows, the clean block is what it should look like and the dirty block is mine, with missing part.

I also need a gasket for the top plate, anyone know where I could find a simple gasket. Instead of buying the whole block rebuild kit?

Looks like you only blew out an expansion plug. It should be a 2" and nearly any parts store should have one.

The real question is why did it happen? Could you have overfilled it (topped off with the arms forward)? You said "my buck slowly dropped". Did you mean bucket? Do you have a loader? If so, do you have an auxiliary (vented) reservoir?

The repair manual doesn't show the plug as a replaceable item. I am guessing that behind it is item 18, 19 and 20. I completely overhauled mine 4 or 5 years ago. I would say you will have to go to a auto parts store for the plug. I don't know if the other parts can still be purchased. I got a seal kit from IH dealer here in town for $110.00.

Hate to admit it but I blew that expansion plug out of mine by over filling it 20 years or more ago, supposed to be filled with the arms back I think.

Jim,

I may have overfilled the hydraulic system. My buck was misspelled, what I should of typed was, my
bucket did drop, yes I have a small loader.

I do not have an auxiliary vented hydraulic reservoir. I'm assuming that I should fill the system
3/4's full, so I don't overfill?

If you put less fluid in the system, you have more chance of the reservoir running empty when the bucket is raised, limiting your maximum height.

Virtually any loader sized for a Super C will have cylinders large enough to require a reservoir larger than the one built into the Touch-Control. Most loaders would have included the added reservoir as part of the loader. Sometimes it was built into the frame. Your fix is to add a reservoir.

What kind of loader do you have?

I'm not sure about my loader, I've attached a picture of the loader and the hydraulic reservoir. The fill tube has a solid cap, from the previous owner, maybe I
should buy a vented cap?

OK, my eyeballing it says the reservoir is adequate but it needs to be vented. I didn't see your main lift cylinders in the pictures, which have some effect on reservoir needs. 3/4 full is reasonable for fluid level. Maybe somebody else will recognize the loader and be able to provide an actual recommendation.

Double check for an existing vent, half hidden at some far corner or something. My hunch is there is none. If the reservoir had quite a lot of air space in it, you could have gotten by a long time without a vent. If you recently topped the oil off, that could have made it finally blow. You may be able to get a vented cap that will screw on in place of the pipe cap that is there now. Or maybe you will need to drill a hole to screw a vent into. Try to find a vent that has some sort of screen or filter material to keep dust out.
