F12 Sleeve Material

Does anyone know whether F12 sleeves are made from steel or cast iron? I was asked earlier this week, but I could not answer!
Thanks,

Sad, I found this and there seems to be many sites if you Google your question.

All the ones I have worked on were cast iron. Sleeves from an A,B, or c will work if you machine a little off the outside near the bottom.

Thank you! I have looked in my Farmall H Service Training Course, which says sleeves are grey iron. I presume the same goes for F12. Thanks again for the advice. Down to the engineer to get a standard size sleeve made… he wants a project!

F12 has wet sleeves, plus once you have them out you can tell what material it is. they have o rings for sealing at bottom. plus machinist would need an old one for sample.

I spoke to the local engineer. He will extract the worst sleeve, as we know the correct inside diameter in any case, and work from there… If it all gets too hard, I can go oversize!

I bought 1 new sleeve from Gordon Rice at Rice Equipment Inc around 3 years ago for my f-12. Just google Rice Equipment Inc,
it should come up and I think there is contact info there.
