Got a Farmall A. But different then my other As. This one is befor hydraulics but has a starter hole. Also has what appears to be a factory kerosene manifold. Block casting puts it at 1942. No serial tag as the left seat bracket is missing. Heat cause is mounted on the governor housing. Any thoughts?? Did As ever come out with kerosene or all fuel? This being a war model was this a dealer option?

I think all the Farmalls of that time had provisions for a starter but having a starter was considered an option so its certainly possible to have the hole but not starter. Concerning the kerosene I don't know if the A's had that option.

Thanks. Yea the manifold gives me thought. It only has the main tank no extra small tank like my h and m have. Also hydraulic delete. When was hydraulics a standard on the As.

Hydraulics became standard when the introduced the Super A in '47. If your tractor is older than that but has a blanking plate where the pump would go it has a newer replacement block. Sam

So the kerosene was an option for the model a? What type of extra fuel tank did they have. Was it like the h and m?? My block is the older style with no place for the hydraulic pump. Was this mainly avaiblbe during the war ?

[Here's a pic of parts book page showing tanks etc. Probably would have had shutters also.

Yes, it included shutters and a temperature gauge. Those 2 items were also available separately. (Shutters may have required the gauge.)
