450, could it be the ignition switch?

Ok, my gas 450 won't crank. I've been trying to trouble shoot. I'm getting 12.9v from my battery, the starter was checked out by the local shop. I checked resistance on the new starter button, good there. The tractor has a key ignition switch and a starter button. Not sure if that was original. The switch had 3 positions, plus what acts like a crank position.
The guy I got it from said from stop position turn it to 2nd spot then hit starter button. That's been working until now. It's not clicking or anything.
Anyway, i can't get resistance anywhere on the ignition switch... but I'm no electrician.
Any ideas? The local shops don't have an ignition switch, don't wanna order one if I don't need it.

Use a heavy jumper form the battery ignition side down to the starter it self. If doing that spins it over then you have either a bad starter button or bad wiring some place. My think is the starter button you have it the type where the battery cable goes to it and then another heavy wire goes to the starter right?? If yes the ignition switch has nothing to do wit hit spinning over

Ckeck all the connections first. especially the ground at both ends. make sure they are clean and shiney. If it still wont start, check the switch(s) with a test light to be sure all positions make contact.

You have 12.9 volts at the battery, right? Where are you losing it? Take a simple 12 volt test light and follow the power. The battery is ok, how
about the battery cable? Test for power with key on and pushing in on start button. Is power passing through start button to solenoid on starter?
Next, is power passing through solenoid to starter itself. Also, don't forget to check all your ground connections between battery and frame and
where starter bolts to tractor. Good luck

It could very well be your ignition switch. The switch on my 450-D sometimes has to be set just a bit off of the "on" position to get the starter switch to work. Try moving the ignition switch off and on a bit while also holding the starter button. But it could also be the starter switch and/or the solenoid. Like others said, best thing to do would be to start at the ignition switch and see where you loose the 12 volts. And yes, the separate key switch and starter button is original on the 350/450 tractors. Al
