Serial number location

I brought home today a B that was given to me from the family of a friend of 42 years who is having dementia problems and none of the kids wanted it and agreed to give it to me. I was needing to know where the serial number is located on it. Thanks

There are two places.
#1 the seat brackets should have a tag riveted on it with the numbers. If I remember right when standing behind it, it is on the left hand upright for the seat

#2 again if I remember right it is also stamped just below the head on the front left side of the block
 
You are lucky to find the plate still there!

Would be interesting to compare it to the engine serial number "old" mentions.
 
Yep matching number mean it has the original engine in it not matching means the engine has been replaced or the tractor could be a mutt built form who knows how many others. Sort of like the BA I built
