I am looking to run my block sleeveless and am wondering what pistons , rod,and bore combo would be best? I have the block apart and the sleeves out. I am putting a 300 gas head, 300 carb and propain manifold on it. Also looking for a cam and push rods. Thanks mike

What classes are you wanting to run? Stone boat or transfer sled?
On stone boat in stock classes an H can do well above 3500 class. On somewhat loose tracks a low geared H in stone boat is impressive.
Now if your talking transfer sled, and not stock as that seems obvious in your post, then an H is way way way outgunned by 4500lbs class.
H can be a dominating tractor for 3500lbs (modified/enhanced/whatever you call not stock) class.

But by the time you hit 4500lbs class of whatever you call NOT stock, your competing with M's and like tractors pushing serious cubes.

I am going to be pulling a transfer sled
class and to be honest I plan on pulling a
stock class. There are other h's in the
same class I pull 3500 pounds and they pull
up to the 5500 and do well. The two fairs I
pull don't seem to have any rules due to
the fact that the same three guys destroy
the rest of us. Some of the guys pulling my
class I watched them on a pto dyno making
50 plus hp. I guess I am tried of placing
4th to 7th all the time

Have you seen that H with all the M@W options on you tube, that puts out 50 horse easier than most M's do,but that's got the M and W stroker crank !!

3.75 is about it for a good H block,with a little stroke,you can use a 706 piston.I've built them out to 4.25" bore,but it gets kinda pricey!
