Loader question

Would a new idea loader from a 400 Farmall fit a 656 Farmall or a Farmall 300? Not sure what model the loader is. Just curious if it?d work

Probably easier on the 656 as it has the same basic structure as the 400. But likely able to be modified to work either way. Jim

The 300 has narrower frame rails. Not sure if the length is the same, but would bet shorter. You would have to 'shim' the side mounts on the 300 approx. 1" each side . Length difference should be no issue.

A Westendorf WL-42 Loader, There made in Onawa Iowa, I don't work for the company or in anyway affilitated with it, just a good loader.

I forgot to add, that the WL-42 will interchange, so i am sure you'r will too, once u get the right mounting kit, which stays on the tractor!

I adapted a loader from a 300 utility to a Super M then to an H.
It wasn't that hard, some adaptations took place but nothing an average backyard butcher cant handle.

You could mount that loader on the statue of liberty if you really wanted to so....itll work.

I bet it will work. I have had loaders on all 3 of those tractors and I didnt have to do anything except bolt em down.

Depending on which New Idea loader it is, the only difference will be how far it hangs over the front end of the tractor. The 300 being shorter, it will likely hang a few inches further off the front of the tractor.

300 is indeed 2" narrower than the 400 or 656 at the frame rails, so a shim may be in order, but I have also seen loaders where you simply flip the front brackets over, or use a different set of holes.
