New crank handle shaft assembly fitted, so I can turn the motor over. This tractor has not run for many many years. I have poured a good dose of a diesel/engine oil mix in each cylinder. Removed the rocker cover to oil the rockers and valves and found black mess everywhere and a very strong smell of kerosene. Time to strip the motor and get the rebuild out of the way? The valves are not stuck. The liquid is my diesel/engine oil mix.

If nothing else its a good time to clean once the head and pan are off. Makes me cringe when someone takes
an old engine and doesn't clean the pan out, you wouldn't believe the crud iv'e found in many of them.
Just took apart a 18=32 Case not long ago that someone had tried to break loose without pulling the pan,
the governor weights had been changed at some time and they didn't bother to remove the broken pieces,
one had chipped a tooth almost gone on the cam gear.

I have new gaskets for oil pan and it is most certainly coming off for cleaning. I have no doubt there is plenty of sludge in the bottom of the pan. I think I can already see a set of pistons, sleeves etc heading to my door. Time to modify the Farmall H sleeve puller for F12 motors!
