I need to replace the LH bull pinion bearing on my 1951 Super C. I have the shaft out about 1/2 inch and there seems to be weight on it. Are things going to go crazy when I pull out the shaft?

Yes. you will break it. The bull gear enters a slot in the bearing carrier
and to remove it the bull gear must be moved rearward. To do that requires
removing the axles far enough to clear the big gear. Jim

Do you have the inner brake plate/drum off? Although I've never done it to my Super C I think on all disc brake tractors the shaft pulls out after that plate is removed, that's the way my Super M comes apart. But wait for somebody else to give me a ya or neigh on it, somebody will post.

Jim I removed the PTO and reached thru the hole and removed the 2 bolts and the round piece holding the axle. I don't think I can do the job thru the PTO opening. Guess the top has to come off. When the axle is pull back enough will the bull gear pull back?
