NOS Delco 3 Wire VR question

Just got this suppose to be NOS Delco Remy 3 post voltage regulator, if you can see in my not to good pictures the post left to right are BATT----GEN-----Field then in the photo of the bottom you can see the "L" stamped
in the bottom of the FIELD lug. Can someone help me with this and how to use it replacing a 4 wire regulator

Its easy to replace a 4 terminal VR (BAT GEN FLD LOAD) with a 3 terminal (BAT GEN FLD) heres how.

1) On the 4 terminal with the extra LOAD terminal that terminal fed loads like lights and ignition etc maybe by a wire or wires from L up to the light and ignition switches.

2) On a 3 terminal VR loads are fed instead off the load (NOT to battery) side of the ammeter which is basically the same as the BAT terminal on the VR as it also wires to the load side of an ammeter.

3) The ammeters 2 terminals are Supply and Load. Supply wires to the battery often via a wire to the big battery cable on a starter switch or solenoid and Load is what feeds lights and ignition PLUS it wires to the BAT terminal on a Voltage Regulator

4) Soooooooooooo to replace an old 4 terminal VR with a 3 terminal (has no LOAD terminal) just take all the wires that used to be connected to the LOAD terminal and instead wire them to the preferred LOAD (NOT battery) side of the ammeter or the BAT terminal on the VR

5) On many 4 terminal VR's the BAT LOAD and FLD are up top side by side while the GEN/ARM is underneath or off on one side by itself.

Got it ??

Also I can not find any numbers on this regulator, maybe this thing is just a counterfeit any ideas I would rather ask a few questions here than make a few mistakes in the shop Thanks Rex

I just cant say ????? On a 3 wire the terminals are all side by side BAT GEN FLD and that's it. On many 4 wire BAT LOAD AND FLD are all together side by side while GEN/ARM is underneath or off on one corner all by itself.

Some VR's are labeled POS Ground others labeled NEG Ground I cant say what you have does it say anywhere???? I trust its surely labeled for your voltage right???

The L stands for LEAD which is hot as long as BAT. terminal has hot wire run to it. My 2 cents.
