464 IH battery draw

Hi all-
Any ideas on how to diagnose a battery draw on 464 gasser? New battery and it drains every time i leave it for a few days. It has no lights that are on, and the ignition switch works fine.
Thank you

Alternator or generator?? Pretty easy to trouble shoot. Pull the + cable off and then stick test lite in line from the cable to the battery. If it lights up yep you have a draw if it does not then good chance the battery it self is bad. If it lights up start taking wires off one at a time till the light goes out and that is where your draw is come from. If it has an alternator on it and you find that is where it is could be a short in the V.R. if internal regulated

A test light is a pretty big draw. Instead insert a volt meter set on DC current and in the 20v range. Test the battery voltage first. If its 13 volts make a note of that. Then remove the positive cable and put the volt meter in between the cable and the positive post. if there is a drain it will equal the 13 volts. If less there is still a drain but, not a major one. If you have the amp selection on your meter you can do that test and see how much it is. Be careful with this selection as if you touch the ground with the lead and its hooked to the battery hopefully you have a fuse in the meter or its toast. Most likely its can be the diode sink in the alternator or regulator. After that unhook things til the draw goes away. Pull fuses,
