Is there a method to get the TA ramp off. I have the planetary gear section pulled out and the 4 bolts holding it out, but can't seem to get the ramp out. Also tried to press the shaft out of the rear of the TA, the one that engages into planetary gears on one side and into transmission on the other. Need to replace the bearing. It doesn't want to come out. Using 20 ton press, I really can't believe a bearing is that hard to come out.

There is a large snap ring that holds the back gear and bearing in the cast assembly. I am assuming the ramp is stuck inside the cast? It should pop out if you flip it gear side up and bounce the pilot end of the back gear on something solid.

Try holding the housing so fingers don't cover the ramp and smack the front of shaft down on a block of wood one or several times. Never failed to have one drop out like that myself. Shaft has a retaining ring that needs removed before shaft comes out of bearing. You will see it after the ramp and piece behind it is out.
