560 white paint

What paint code is used on the white on a 560. I use Nason's paint but any paint code I can cross over. Does the IH dealer have the correct color? Thanks for the help. Ed

IH #2150 white. yes an IH dealer should have paint.I just bought an arosol can of 'IH white' from TSC. darn near a perfect match.

Delta, I believe you meant CIH 935 White as 2150 is the current red offered by CIH which is the commonly used red paint. My classic car restoration person who does my painting likes the CIH Iron Guard paint and says it sprays as nice as most automotive paints and it seems to hold up well and certainly a good paint for the price. He uses hardener in the paint as well, Hal.

The white on 460/560's was IH#901. Good luck finding a color number for your paint shop to mix. I had a Cub Cadet I was restoring couple years ago, very well equipped auto paint shop couldn't come up with a cross reference so handed me 3-ring binder with about 5000 different shades of white. We ended up using a Ford color.

The 935 white has just a hint of beige to it compared to 901. There's also a #902 white that is a whiter off-white.

Ford Wimbledon White is pretty close to being a cross between 935 and 902 White (more the 902). Works for the "close enough" crowd like me. It does not work for some of the old IH white that is almost almond in color (901?). I always thought the 460/560 had 902 for a paint code but then there is a good chance I'd never seen an original 560 - the almond color probably faded to a lighter color.

The latest IH tractor that I have restored and researched the paint codes on was a 1958 Farmall 240. The white paint called for on the 240 was No. 901 Harvester White. At the time I was researching the paint colors for my 240 I came across a Product Identification Committee Decision No. 278 dated April 18, 1958, which identifies the colors on the Farmall and International 560 tractors to be No. 201 Harvester Red and No. 901 Harvester White. I don't know if this was later changed to a different white by a later Committee Decision to a different color or not as I was not researching the colors for the 460, 560 and 660 IH series of tractors. Most restored IH 60 series tractors I have seen have the creamer white like IH 935 which is currently available from CaseIH. I with help from paint knowledgeable individuals was able to closely match a white to the original Harvester No. 901 white. No. 901 white is a very stark white in color and might even have a very slight tint of green. Like I noted I have never seen a 560 tractor painted with No. 901 Harvester white at any shows or exhibits that I can recall.
Someone who has restored a 460/560/660 IH tractor during the time frame when your 560 was produced might have done the research on paint colors then in effect through the Wisconsin Historical Society McCormick records where the IHC documentation is presently available. My email is open if you have further questions or concerns and want to continue this discussion further, Hal.

Well being no real expert on paint but have had a bunch painted we have always used the cub cadet white and the 2150 red right wrong don't know but they all looked good . They looked better then rust and they could go to the field or to the show and myself never heard anybody complain that you used the wrong paint. My one buddy did the painting and in 94 eleven tractors at the Red power roundup were painted by him and i think like five or six made the video .

I know I`m late to the show here, but back about 15 years ago when I was investigating the 40/60 series white, I was told it was IH 901. The people in the know on the Red Power forum at the time like Wilson Gatewood said that PPG 8665 was the correct or at least very, very close to IH 901. I think it looks right to my eyes too. There`s actually a tiny bit of green tint in it if I remember right ! Heres the white on my F340.
