Farmall 806

Has anyone out there ever put a foot feed (accelerator pedal) on an 806. Sure would be handy for me if I had one. Looking to put one on and wondering if anyone has done it, and willing to give me some good advice. Thanks

Well if it's a diesel, I would think it would be pretty easy with the injection pump on the right side of the engine, i never done it on mine, but i would go look at a John Deere 4020-4620 they have them, and the pump is on same side, on the 4620 you go from idle to wide open with out too much foot movement.

IH offered one. I saw one in my owners manual under the 'optional equipment' section. There is now an outfit that makes them. Seen them advertise in RedPower Magazine at times.Try Googleing '806 foot throttle'

One of the most useless things Deere ever put
on their tractors. IMHO.

Second most dumb thing on the 4020s was sticking
that PTO lever out on the right side to catch
winter clothes when getting off.

One of Harvesters classic blunders was putting
the transmission dipstick under the floor board
on the 1066.

I rather like the foot throttle on the 4020. I find it handy when doing loader work,or other jobs that take a lot of back/forth;stop/start.I've often thought of putting a foot throttle on my tractor. The PTO lever doesn't bother because I always get off or the left.If I ever get off on the right,I just 'compensate'. However,I whole heartedly agree about the IH dipstick!the guy who designed that was a real 'dipstick'.

Delta---- I suppose where it is needed, it would be
handy.
Biggest aggravation with the PTO lever is that I use
it to pull in loads. Due to space limitations & geography,
our wagons dump on the right side, so it is handier to get
off/ on on the right side.

I worked for a farmer after college that had a 1066 with a factory foot throttle.I am sure this style could be adspted to an 806. It was factory I-H. This was very handy when hauling wagons down the road or hauling manure. You set the throttle while in the feild. but use the foot feed everywhere else. I install factory, or shop built pedels on most all of my tractors that get used much. AL
