This tractor ran an auger about a week. Went to move it and I noticed the red oil light was on solid. Shut the tractor down thinking it was engine oil pressure, but there wasn't any knocking and engine oil was full. Remembered the MCV on the left side of the transmission had a pressure sensor on it as well. Started the engine back up and as I thought there was no steering or brakes. Had things to do so I walked away for a couple days and it was very cold if the temperature would be a possible problem. Came back later and same problem, but I did move it towards the shed without power steering or brakes. Going down a short incline everything powered up (was warmer). Steering and brakes came back - worked 100%. Well, that rules out the drive gear coming off. Put it back on the auger and finished putting beans away. Was going to put it in the shed yesterday and the same problem occurred. No steering or brakes. Put in a new filter today. About a quart or so of oil came out when the cover was taken off. New filter in - no change. Drove it on the incline - no change. Added enough oil to bring it up to low/full lines on the dip stick, but no more and still no steering or brakes. Might be a tad low, but at least up to the bottom line. Whats next????? Slightly pressurize the transmission filler hole??? Over filling the transmission?? One note - I did raise the auger (Westfield with a big lift cylinder) when setting the auger to the bin which may have lowered the oil level which I wouldn't think it would be all that much. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks.
