464 Hydraulic fluid change

I?ve never done this before. Three drain plugs on the bottom of the tractor. I removed all of them and dropped out about 11 gallons of fluid. I changed the filter, cleaned the screen and replaced the filter housing gasket.

Is there only one spot to fill the fluid? I see a big plug on top of the the 3 point hitch. ANy tips on how to fill and/or bleed the system of air?

THanks fellas.

Hi, there is just 1 fill plug behind the seat on top of 3pt housing. Holds about 9 gallons. I am not sure if this 9 gallons is US gallons or UK gallons. It does not hurt to over fill by 5 gallons.
Put the 9 gallons of hydraulic fluid in the trans/diff, check for leaks around the filter, DO NOT Touch the PS or PB, start the tractor and let it run at fast idle 1300 to 1500 RPM. Check for leaks again, then start cycling the 3pt up and down for several cycles, then try the PS going from max left to right until the PS works smoothly. With tractor still at fast idle check the hydraulic fluid level with dipstick by your left heel, level should be at or above hash marks.

If none of the hydraulics work then DO NOT run engine too long as it will not be good for the pump. Post again and someone will tell you how to bleed the system.

Thank you, sir. I put in 10 gallons (that?s about what came out of it) and ran it. PS and hydraulics seem to work well. It?s nice to have the help here on the forum.
