F12 engine mounting bolts

My F12 appears to have been treated very well in the past, but then fell into the hands of a someone who began to 'restore' it. As a result there are various bolts missing. I want to fit correct engine mounting bolts. So far as I can see from page 27 of the Parts Catalog, the front bolts, which fix the front engine support to the frame are ½ x 1½" (presumably UNC) and presumably with hex nut and spring washer. I cannot find the correct bolt listed for the bell housing to frame. I presume also ½" but ¾" or 1" longer?
Any help gratefully received.

Pretty sure they are the same as the front. If too long, cut them off. However, for a "correct" 'restoration',use the original old style 'dot head' bolts.Common hardware store bolts are not 'right'.

You are correct on the fronts. The rears are longer because of the thickness of the bellhousing Still 1/2" I would say 2-1/2" long
Have seen early F-12 with square nuts and later with hex nuts.

Thankyou! The previous owner fitted two mild steel bolts to the front and left the rear bolts out altogether. I was thinking about using Grade 5 bolts.

If you are set on trying to do a correct restoration with the correct original bolts contact Mike at
Steel Wheel Ranch in KS at 785-548-7four37. If he doesn?t have any he will direct you to
someone that does.

I think the general consensus on "dot head" bolts were that they were first used in the very late 30's, perhaps '39 or so. You likely won't find any on an F series Farmall of any flavor. Many of the F series bolts were square head. To answer your original question though...I don't know. A quick gander through my F12 parts book doesn't show them either. For what it's worth mine had two square head bolts, which I replaced with new square head, grade 8 bolts from my local supplier.

Sad, All I have seen are square head bolt, Grade 5 is fine.
Forget about this dot head stuff you couldn't get your head under there to see them if you tried. Bolt up from bottom Nuts on top.

Thank you! I think that will work just fine. It currently has a couple of 10mm mild steel bolts - motor might just fall out if I start it like that!

I'm in the process of restoring a 1934 F-12 and just today removed the engine mounting bolts. The front ones are 1 1/2" and the rears are 2" long. And yes they are square head.

Thank you! That saves me some measuring! I will also note the length in my parts catalog. I started keeping an F12 workshop diary with information to make things easier for next time work has to be carried out (or I buy another F12!) This is the sort of data I put into it.
