Bout my B Govoner

I took the housing off and in wiggling the arms I noticed that there is a tiny nib sticking up at the bottom. Above this, there is a piece that is cut into a channel for to pass back and forth over the nib.
What I noticed is that the nib could hit either side of the channel due to slop side to side. I fixed the slop on the lever side, that lever going to carb by sliding it in around a 1/2in or less. I cant figure how to take up the slop on the opposite side of the channel as I cant take the rod out.
IF nothing else, ill get a couple washers that open up and put in there to stop the slop. Don't know how long theyed hold up, but expect it would be for as long as I expected to use the B.
ALSO, In removing the grill, I noticed, at the bottom of the radiator and below it, there is a plug at the steering gears. how full of gear oil is that supposed to be?

Full to the level plug on the side. That nib will be just fine cause when the gov is in its operating function the nib will prevent the shaft from moving sideways and no further shimming is necessary did you get the hooks on the gov spring facing towards the outside of the housing. Did you rebush the input lever so it doesent have any slop most are worn and do affect the throttle response easy to. bore the housing and install a 5/8x1/2 brass bushing. You didn't need to remove the grille I have rebuilt some without removing grille

Gene, nobody mentioned getting the hooks on the spring facing on the outside that I saw. Ill look to that tho. Thanks. I havnt been to town to get another bushing. Priced them in a catalog, Steiners at around $12

Gene, I went and looked at it this morning. The pieces the spring attaches to all go from front to back, sorta/kinda, and the spring has to go through their holes pointing sideways.. One hook is pointing L the other R.
