1086 telescoping front axle stuck

I think I know what your answers will be but I'll still ask the question in case someone has a new idea. How do you unstick the front axle on a 1086 so it will telescope? I can get out the rosebud but I hope I can get this thing loose before I resort to heat. It's a loader tractor. I have had the clamp bolts loose for two years with only the through pin holding it and it hasn't tried to rotate on it's own. Years ago when I had saddle tanks on this tractor I had trouble keeping the axle tube clamps tight, now it's the other way.

Well I got it done. Plenty of heat and sledge hammer like you guys would have suggested. It gave me a good cardio workout . LOL A hefty porta power comes in handy too.

Where there's a will, there is a way. Mostly it is a contest of determination.

And stamina!

I fought the left side all the way. The goal was to slide it out only one hole or two inches so the tire won’t catch a loader bracket. Ten ton Port a power pushing out and me wailing at the bottom of the spindle to twist it around a bit yielded about 1/8” of out movement per four good whacks with the sledge.

Right side was the same way till it was a half hole from being out where I wanted it. Then it suddenly slid out easy. I have not tightened the clamps. Hopefully if I leave it loose it will wiggle a little and free up some more.

Rusty that's a good idea and I plan to do that in the future but ran out of time. (and energy) My battle plan is to leave them loose so they might just loosen up a little more and come out easy. This morning when I was using it I felt one side shift when I backed up so I'm half way there.
