Been trying to get this tractor back in action been sitting in a shed for a long time. Wondering if anyone knows where to get part for the F8 starting carb. Looks like my Dad started to work on it. It is missing a plug on the end where the vent line is located. Found a diagram blow up drawing of the carb and know it is some type of fitting. Any help would be appreciated.

you might check out the IH online parts site. would probably tell you what you need to get.

If where overflow line goes the fitting fits threads in carburetor and adapts to threads on overflow line. If hole to right of that one looking from rear a plug goes in hole. Don't think it's pipe threads but can't remember. Or if someone happened to put a adjustable jet carburetor on it I think from what I remember the adjusting stem goes in place of plug. Original SMD would have a plug.

Thanks checked with them and they don't have the part but that is where I got the drawing.

I found a fine thread plug that fits may just try it and see what happens

If you have a regular carburetor and the hole leads to a screw in passage that extends down inside near edge of carburetor bowl, hole just needs plugged so gas doesn't get out or dirt in.
