Farmall B was exclusively narrow front. A tractor similar to a B but with a wide front could be an A or some sort of frankentractor combination of parts.

You have a Franken tractor. No such thing as a 'factory' B with wide front.the A was a 'one row' tractor. The B was a 2 row tractor. They are basicly the same tractor with different wheel arrangement. The 'X' in the date code indicates 1952. Pretty sure the last B was built in 1947.So your tractor was built from several different tractors. Hence "Frankentractor".

Those numbers with the R's in the "middle" are part numbers. You have several parts with "X" year code. Does the tractor have a Hydraulic system? If it does it could be a Super A (serial tag also on seat bracket). Not sure on supers but "regular" letters have engine serial number by front (number 1) spark plug(see pic).

They are enough to determine that what he has is NOT a B.

Date codes ending in X mean 1952, and B's were not made past 1947.

B's also did not have touch controls.

It is either a Super A or a Super C. If the seat is offset to the right, and the steering shaft runs down the right side of the engine, it is a Super A. If you sit centered behind the hood, and the steering shaft runs down the left side of the engine, it is a Super C.
