1927 McCormick Deering 10 - 20

Hello and greetings all!

I am looking for information on one of the 10 -20's I purchased a few weeks ago. I am not very familiar with the 10 - 20 or anything in the IH tractor line. I am a Twin City/Minneapolis Moline collector.

I would like to know if any one has a picture of what the manifold side of a 1927 should look like. I have 2 10 - 20's and both are very different form each other. The other is 1929.

Thanks!

I don't have any pictures, but it might help getting comments if you could post picture of your manifold set ups. oldiron29

ever since they built the tractors. the 10-20, 15-30, 22-36 all had side curtains. 22-36 was the last model to have them. w-30's and w40's next in line did not have.

to help keep the heat in to vaporize the kerosene, cold air blowing across the manifold takes away heat needed to keep the heavier fuels from changing from vapor state to liquid state

I did think of that but after reading through several magazines and forum posts, it seems there is a cornucopia of different manifold renditions. The 10-20 on the rear of the trailer I think has a W-4 manifold on it since it has the exhaust going straight up. You can see the rusty soup can in the picture. This Tractor is my parts tractor then what ever is left it will be for sale. (it does have a nice set of F&H front wheels on it)

I did pull off the manifold and head on the one on the front of the trailer, it looks fairly complete, the manifold has issues, I think.

But I did find a couple squatters cylinder # 2 and # 3.
