Farmall 230 brakes

The 230 isn?t used much. I changed the brake discs, ball bearings, and springs a year or so back. Put it back together and all was well. Jump ahead to about a month ago. Pulled the tractor out of the barn and the brakes grabbed hard and sounded like metal to metal. Today I pulled them apart. First, no oil on the brakes so the seals are functioning. The discs and actuators were dry. My question - Should the actuators and discs be ?glazed?. Photos attached. I?m wondering if I need to have these machined or if I can just brush these up with something like a fine emery sheet

I can't speak to the if they need machining,but when u assemble them get some Graphite the powder ,like the old corn planters needed, that works well, to keep the balls moving free.

If you do decide to machine it, make sure that you also take the same amount off of the housing to compensate.

Thanks for the replies. I’ll get the graphite lube and then brush them some to clean them up. I’m not going to machine them now. I’m assuming that the grabbing and sticking pads were due to condensation.
