Replacing the manifold on the M

Who has the best quality for aftermarket? Once on I do not want to make changing the manifold an every year exercise. It's a kerosene manifold but I am not going to worrying about a kerosene manifold going back on.

I do not know hoo makes the best one. I have a real good manifold off a 400 for $75 . Will not be correct but I have read it is a better manifold. I'm in western NY.

Cant comment on current quality, but we would buy whatever we could find the cheapest, and never really had any issues with any of them. Now a days, if it were mine, Id find a good used original.

I'm leaning towards finding a parts M although the last time I said that they seemed to be few and far in between where I live. I said that that about a Ford 800 series tractor over 15 years ago and only saw a couple opportunities on parts units and they went high in price. The 400 manifold sounds tempting.

Don't know if they are still in business or not but I have a Vinson manifold Made in USA on my Farmall M that was restored in the late 1990's. I purchased another Vinson manifold in 2009 when I restored my 1953 Super C tractor as well. From a check on the internet Vinson Tractor Co. came up in Murray, Kentucky (270) 753-4892. In looking at my receipts for the Super C I see I purchased the Vinson manifold for that tractor from Marshall Tractor Parts on eBay and think they were located in Kentucky or Tennessee. Both of these manifolds have held up fine with no fitting or service issues on either tractor, Hal.

I just did a quick search on eBay and quickly found a new USA made Vinson manifold for a Farmall M part no. 358308R11. It is item no. 391247886302 as I read the small print best I can. It is for sale by Roberts Farm Equipment in Camden, Ohio. This manifold clearly shows the manufacturers name "Vinson" cast in the manifold just like the one I have on my 1951 Farmall M. It is listed at $249 plus $27.20 shipping. The eBay's sellers name is noted as tparts22nuk if that helps in your search, Hal.
