Need Wiring Diagram/Help on 424-Gas

I am in need of a wiring diagram for an IH 424 utility gas powered. I have he original wiring and the po cut some wires and spliced new ones to go to some different switches he put on it. When I got it it didn't have a key and just had an aftermarket push button. There were a bundle of 5 wires that had been cut near the starter and taped up. I can see the original colors of the wires but after using the wiring diagram on the Case IH parts site, some of the colors don't match up. These are definitely the original wires too. Trying to put everything back as it was from the factory with oem style switches.

I have several wires....such as the green one in the picture that isn't on the diagram I found. I've been doing continuity tests but it isn't helping me, only confusing me.

If you can find an operators manual specificly for that tractor it should have the wiring diaghram in it. My 404 manual does.

Can you post it? It might help me out and be the same or similar.

Where do the other end of the wires go?

I would guess that one of the wires goes to the painted small post on starter solenoid and other end goes to the input side of the coil. It would be a starting bypass wire for the coil resistor.

From the appearance of the wires I would seriously consider a rewire of the tractor.

The wires really are in good condition. I've seen alot of old tractor wiring and its not too bad. I just can't figure out why there are certain wires there and not corresponding to the wiring diagram that is on the Case IH Parts site.

The diagram they list isn't a typical wiring diagram either. It is a picture of all of the wires on the tractor with the color of them labeled and it "shows" generally where the hook to. Not very clear or easy to read at all.

ANYONE HAVE ANY INFO TO HELP?

I got the wiring diagram!! Thank you to the man who sent me the CNG link where it could be found. I'm not going to be around the tractor until next Saturday but I think it will help greatly. I will ask questions if in need to.

One question now. What does the "hook" symbol mean as shown circled?? It shows up in a few places and this is the area I have some cut wires.

At first glance, it looks like those may be wires that are taped off/unused in this application.

Ok. Looks like the "Violet" wire is the common color wire that is associated with the "loop" symbol. Maybe it is just an extra wire circuit that isn't used on this tractor....

Next, what about the "dotted lines" as shown on the Light Attachment Wiring Diagram ? What does that designate? I also noticed they show BOTH,a lighting switch with 2 posts, and also show the traditional light switch. What is up with that??

Here is that diagram.....

I dove into the the wiring last night and got some of it done, but didn't finish. There were several wires I traced continuity and verified were correct. There were others I still haven't figured out. Specifically the wiring of the on/off key switch and the fuse holder. I also can not figure out where that Green wire is supposed to go that is near the starter because there isn't a green wire listed on the diagram. The Green wire goes back into the multi-connector so it doesn't look "added" by a Previous Owner. I also replaced all dash light bulbs including warning lights.

I went to hook up the battery to see what progress I had made and as soon as I hooked it up, the dash lit up like a Christmas tree. All dash lights came on and the "Amp" light came on just by plugging up battery. The wire to the coil was also hot (sparked when I touched to resistor. Keep in mind that the Key Switch, Light Switch, and Fuse Holder all are not yet hooked up. I narrowed that down to a wire on the key switch (hot wire) being hooked up to the wrong side of the junction block. I moved that wire to the other side, and now the dash backlights went out and only the "Amp" light is on and the points are still hot. The wiring diagram isn't clear on which wires go where......seems like it leaves some off and the "Lighting Diagram" doesn't show much either. Also, my junction block has 2 posts, and the one shown on diagram has 3 posts. SO CONFUSING, BUT I WILL GET THERE!!!

(quoted from post at 10:11:02 12/01/17) Anyone??

Planning on working on the tractor tonight and tomorrow night. Hoping to get the wiring figured out and done.

Read the last post. Any suggestions And input is greatly appreciated.
